The Sweet Spoon Bakery creates elevated, vegan dessert jars that deliver 2 desserts in 1 jar. We create thoughtfully paired flavors and textures at each layer so every bite feels intentional and not repetitive. What truly sets us apart is balance: our signature frosting is smooth and creamy without being overly sweet, letting the flavors shine instead of overpowering the dessert. We’re committed to clean, thoughtful ingredients; no soy, no artificial flavors, and no dyes. Everything is made from scratch, including our chocolate and caramel sauces. We also offer select gluten-free options, making our jars approachable for a wider audience without compromising indulgence, quality, or flavor.
Meet Roland



Hello. My name is Roland and I'm the founder and co-owner of The Sweet Spoon Bakery. I'm married to my amazing wife and co-owner, Nia, and together we have a son and lead test taster, Lukas. We reside in the amazing city of Charlotte, NC.

My passion for baking started in my mom's kitchen back when I was a teenager. My sweet tooth fueled me to create amazing desserts that became the desire of every meal, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's a major accomplishment in a black family because there are consequences for experimenting during the holidays(if you know you know lol). Although I'm not formally trained my experience over the years qualified me to start my own bakery.
I'm not vegan, although we intentionally avoid dairy and have been progressing towards veganism because of the health benefits. The passing of my father at a young age due to health issues also made me health-conscious. The combination of having a major sweet tooth, wanting to avoid health issues because of family history, and knowing how dairy and other animal products affect me welcomed the idea of a vegan bakery. My goal became to create desserts most people could enjoy with a little less guilt, whether vegan or not. It's mind blowing how great these dessert jars have turned out.
